I’ve always loved unusual and strange fashion illustrations, and in this article, I want to share some of my favorites with you. They’re not for everyone, but I really hope that some of you will like and appreciate them.
Richard Haines
This Vogue illustration is so amazing. I like the pastel colors in it. The asymmetrical face is really interesting too—it looks like it’s falling apart. Another thing that I really like is how the torn paper gives the illustration a casual feel, while it still looks professionally made.

Richard Gray
It’s amazing how he uses such an odd combination of colors—red, pink and orange—but still manages to make them look great together. The whole illustration is a dynamic mix of faces and places.

Tanya Ling
This illustration for Viktor & Rolf is so stunning. The hair looks transparent, with dark blue lines connecting its strands. Overall, the colors are well chosen and the technique is really interesting.

Rob Phillips
One of my favorite ways of illustrating the human body is by distorting it. That’s why I appreciate Rob Phillips’s work so much. His illustrations are all so expressive and astonishing.

Velwyn Yossy
Just a few lines for the face and some perfectly coordinated colors for the dress make this illustration simply marvelous! If you’re an artist, you might admit to being a little jealous of the artist’s creativity and the way the outlines alternate between white and black.

Blair Breitenstein
One of my favorite things about Blair Breitenstein’s illustrations is the spontaneous abstract touches that she adds to them. In this one, she combines different techniques. The background color almost merges with the color of the figures’ bodies, making their outfits stand out.

Amelie Hegardt
The thing that I like most about this illustration is how the dress looks so delicate and soft, while the face is just the opposite. But somehow this combination works really well here.

Antonio López
The colors here are so bright and vivid, and the black-and-white background really makes them pop. Another interesting thing is the arrangement and orientation of the figures.

Helen Bullock
Even with just a few lines and only four colors, she manages to create a really interesting and unusual figure. No extra detail is needed to create a simply amazing piece.

Fiona Gourlay
This one reminds me a little of a horror movie. It’s really interesting how their bodies seem to be in motion, while their faces remain still. And did you notice the faces in the background? So creepy!
