Hosting a free class to teach fashion design sketches, digital illustration and how to design your collections is something that has been on my mind for a long time. But the moment was never right until yesterday.
Yesterday I attended an event that really pissed me off on a deep, deep personal level. It was advertised as a free event that would bring a lot of value to all people watching live. In reality, it was an hour and half of aggressive sales pitch, promoting a crazy expensive program ($2000). The actual value in the live was really like 2 minutes, no more.
I don’t want to live in a world that this is normal and I am going to be the change I want to see in the world.
Is it possible to teach a 100% Free Fashion Design Class?
Yes. I firmly believe that if you want to, you can 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼 your students speaking on a topic you’re expert on. As long as you want to do it, you can and it costs you nothing!
That’s why I plan to start a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 in my field of expertise :

- 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
- 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴
- 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Reasons I am Starting This Free Class:
- I love teaching
- I hate fake gurus
- There are so many people who can’t afford to pay for classes and I believe that helping them does NOT stop your paying clients from finding you and wanting to work with you.
Decision To make
My only concern is something in the back of my mind’s telling me people just don’t value what is offered free…
So…..can you please share with me your honest truth – would you rather attend a weekly fashion drawing class if it was:
A) 100% free
B) Symbolic amount like $1 or $5?
Obviously, I’m not going to get rich from $1 – $5.
I have other streams of income like the fashion figure templates that have been a the core of I Draw Fashion for years.
I’m just genuinely curious which option sounds better to you and you’d rather join without thinking it’s another fake guru sales pitch.
